Arriving at the retirement destination of your dreams doesn’t happen by accident. In fact, for most retirees, it doesn’t happen at all. According to Statistic Brain, out of every 100 people who start working at the age of 25, only five will be financially independent by the time they are 65 years old.
What happens to the other 95? Of those that make it to retirement age, they will either still be stuck in the workforce, or dependent on government programs, friends, relatives or charity. This doesn’t happen because these people had plans that failed, this happens because these people failed to plan.
Some guidelines to having a successful retirement requires having a plan, sticking to it and beginning with the end in mind. Just as you can’t plot a route without knowing its destination, you can’t plan for a retirement without knowing what you want it to look like. Whether or not you reach your ideal future is a question that will be determined by deliberate intention, not chance.
Everyone wants to be successful but most people don’t realize accomplishing this feat is entirely up to them. My objective is to make your goals a reality.
